The Challenge #3 photos will be shown at the January 22nd meeting. This is a six-week challenge that includes the holidays, so there should be an abundance of opportunities and no excuse not to participate. Because of all the family photos that people take at this time of year, this is a particularly good opportunity for all members to take part!

The Challenge #2 photos will be shown at the November 20th meeting and commented on by that evening's speaker, Patrick Smith, a Baltimore based photojournalist with a sports concentration. We are looking for photos in which have a sports related subject as a primary compositional element.
The Challenge #1 photos will be shown at the October 23 meeting and commented on by that evening's speaker, Dr. Zoltan Levay from the Space Telescope Science Institute. (Hence the Challenge topic!) You'll be hearing more about him later. But as for the Challenge itself, don't be intimidated! Your "Night Sky" photos don't have to be only star photos, and you certainly don't need a telescope: we are looking for photos in which the night sky (or a night sky, or something highly "night-sky-like") is a primary compositional element.
